“PSSN: Showcasing advocacy to nature conservation
through multi-disciplinary approach”
May 5-10, 2008
Rationale
Our time is characterized by a myriad of environmental problems. Being aware of their consequences, people from different walks of life search for workable, effective, and efficient (WEE) solutions to these problems and develop strategies for sustainable use of our natural and human resources.
The 8th National Scientific Convention is a unique opportunity for these people to showcase and discuss studies, strategies, and advocacies in conserving nature and people. The convention will focus on the roles of environmental laws, ethics, development, environmental explorations, business enterprises, ICTs, and education in utilizing, preserving, restoring, and conserving natural and environmental amenities and cultural heritages.
The approach is multidisciplinary to take into account the diversity of nature conservation strategies. Four sub-themes were developed, which will correspond to the parallel sessions of the convention.
